  • Cowboys' Tony Romo Out For Season

With one week left in the NFL regular season, and they fight for a spot in the playoffs, the Dallas Cowboys lose starting quarterback Tony Romo for the rest of the season due to a back injury, reports ESPN.

The 33-year-old underwent an MRI on his back on Monday (Dec. 23), and at first, didn't believe it would effect the rest of the season. Apparently, he was wrong.

Romo had surgery in April to remove a cyst from his back and did not take a snap until the team reached training camp in Oxnard, Calif., in July. The extent of this new injury was unknown at press time.

The Cowboys (8-7) are set to host the Philadelphia Eagles (9-6) on Sunday (Dec. 29). The winner will capture with the winner capturing the NFC East title. Kyle Orton is expected to start.
