lol on a serious note though, I'm not defending this but I can't remember a single black dude here that ever felt bothered by it. Whenever this becomes an issue it's always a white guy that's bothered by it. Pretty weird.

And whenever someone says something like this, it's always another white person. "Weird", I could say, or I could, you know, not be an asshole and an idiot, and actually understand the thing. Have you ever known me even a little? We have been on this scene for like 20 years together. When was I ever false? The only false thing I ever did was pass on a UCBT 5 second clip I got from Dante, because I was a child and was so excited and pumped, not because I was trying to play dubious games. Beyond that, name a single occurrence, a single "beef" I had with an idividual and not an idea, throught my 20 years. I'll wait.

Even though the thread has been moved you still can see the thread title. I think that's lame. 2pac forum doesn't consist of wiggers and we certainly don't encourage them to say "nigga".

And for people that don't undetrstand how it's encourage, Jesus Christ already. If the police don't arrest criminals then that would mean that crime is encouraged. In the same way that rape is encouraged if no one speaks out against it. Or rather, it's a common human trait and if not discouraged, it will happen prominently, that's another way to think about it. Encouragement doesn't have to be a poster of Uncle Sam pointing at YOU. It can be the silent majority. And when I say "can", I mean, whenever a majority remains silent about something, the minority will interpret that as indirect encouragement. Don't take the "can" as me not being sure, or " this is what I THINK". It's an inarguable fact that that happens. I mean. Are you people dim or do you just like getting away with shit yourself?

The most wack part about this, man, is that I've seen you make similar "speak-out" posts about issues that you believe in before. So I know you're capable of caring about principles. But then you throw me under the bus as a "white guy" even though I've been on the scene just as long as you, tackling the same identity issues that comes with being white european and listening to hip-hop as you. Why would you say to someone, "you jew/french"? Is it a question?



Isn't it a bit prejudice to assume that you know how every Jewish or French person will respond to this question?

Replace the word Jew with white and French with black and tell me why the response will be different? Or does this thought exercise only work with Jewish/French people?

Privilege to using words shouldn't be based on skin color, in my eyes thats a form of racism because you basically say you can't do this or that BECAUSE of skin color. Political correctness (adjectivally: politically correct; commonly abbreviated PC) is a term used to describe language, policies, or measures that are intended to avoid offense or disadvantage to members of particular groups in society.

I believe there is nothing wrong with being PC, but like everything, it can be taken too far. The context in which words are used is what matters, not the words themselves.

For example, in the past month on this forum, I used the word 'nixxER' (and learned that it is censored here) and the term 'white trash' when referring to the way that police think about working class people while they are doing their job. The police have to belittle (or think less of) working class people to justify arresting or killing them etc., otherwise they have to acknowledge that they themselves are assholes (and people don't like to think of themselves as assholes).

This is the type of context in which I think it is wrong to use certain words: when they are used to belittle/insult a person or groups of people without any real justification.


There is another context where I don't like certain words being used. For example, when we call straight people 'fags etc.' as a means to belittle them (the straight people). Like it or not, even if we are for gay rights or whatever, this is (unconsciously) suggesting that gay people are less 'human' so to speak. We don't need to unconsciously belittle a whole category of people to insult someone else. This would be like me calling a white person that I don't like a nixxER as a means to insult them; even if I am not racist, this is not good in my opinion.

I don't believe that the terms 'cracker' or 'white devils' are generally used to refer to white people as a whole, but to certain categories of white people (the racist ones, or those who feel superior to other people). When I hear these terms in hip hop, I don't feel like anybody is referring to me (or anybody who does not deserve it), so why should I 'bat an eye'?
