Intersting. I think there was a specified resolution when the competition took place. Not sure if there was a real reason for that, but maybe there is a limit.

I don't have much knowledge in graphical stuff, but perhaps it's to do with the resolution for different window sizes?

I remember the window size thing – [MENTION=1655]djcoma1200 fixed that with his tip. They added a setting where the banner would maintain its dimension and not stretch out. So its important to maintain that setting they put the current one on with any other banner.

I don't recall fully but I dont think that was related to the image resolution/size

my suggestion to anyone that is interested in making a banner; create one in higher resolution, like 2000x width or something, or bigger. If the size needs to be smaller its a simple process of downscaling the banner size. If you do it the other way round you'll be working backwards.

I have a higher res remake of it pretty much done here. will probably tweak it a bit more.
