Might just be me, but it's been slower for me since last night, maybe a bit before that

about how long does it take pages like the main forum page, threads, forums etc to load?

i use the blue style and the pages load pretty quick for me maybe 3/4 seconds,it hasn't changed for me since you started this thread

I use Nikola style, and it takes about 8 seconds on a slow load, about 3 when it's fast (first world problems lol)

Woah that's actually mega slow, and you are not too far from the hosting site compared to other people. 3 seconds is what I get on a slow load. I may have to look at the Nikola style as that one seems to have some problems consistently.

What browser you use, and what kind of internet connection?

If you are willing, try the dark style for a few days and let me know if its any different.

Cool beans, thanks. In the meantime I will take a look at nikola style when I'm at a pc again.

For the most part I test the dark, light and bTech styles (blue,red,green,purple,brown) in my testing since those are actually supported and updated when the forum is upgraded

btw finally took the plunge, you were right. my home laptop is running centos 6.3, and im loving it. i may convert the server over to centos as well at some point.

sure, u dont have to believe me, but even some of MS servers are runnin on linux
but what to tell, 98% of supecomputers runnin linux, but i will not go offtopic

Haha np. I definitly believe ms servers use linux. Probably debian or centos. Centos is the one that stood out to me. The site runs on it as well.
Maybe we should take this to PM tho haha.

No real difference for me although i seldom get bad wait times everything runs quite well maybe just the odd time it will slow a bit but not for long could be just due to the load on the server at the time.

Yep that's what I been working on. Already did everything I can do to increase page scores (we score 95 out of 100 in both categories on GTMetrix) but load times can also be affected by server load. Server load is mainly caused by database queries and disk writing, which is what the latest round of work has been for.
