  • Constantine Stops Production After 13 Episodes

Constantine has proven to be a resourceful individual when it comes to getting out of jams, but I’m not sure if even the “master” of dark arts can figure out how to get out of this situation.

While “Constantine” has been pretty well received by most critics and fans, the supernatural-themed show has struggled to find an audience since it’s debut last month. It seemed like NBC wanted the show to capture the same kind of audience that watches “Grimm”, but the crowd just isn’t crossing over. And now Deadline has learned that NBC has put a stop to the show’s production after 13 episodes.

However, that doesn’t mean that the show is necessarily cancelled. According to the site, “Constantine” will remain in contention for a second season. Meaning that, if NBC wants, the network could negotiate a second season. All this means is that the network has decided to only produce 13-episodes this season instead of having a full season. The remaining episodes will still air this season at it’s regular time at 10pm on Fridays.

There are also rumors circling around that NBC would consider giving “Constantine” over to SyFy which just aired a mini-marathon of the currently aired episodes this past Saturday. However, that’s only a rumor at this point, but with SyFy looking to get back in to the scripted television business it certainly seems like a possibility.

As a fan of “Constantine” I hope this show can turn things around and get some traction for a second season. However, with only eight episodes left, Constantine is running out of time and running low on tricks.
