  • Donovan McNabb Retires? Signs On As NFL Network Broadcaster

It looks like the playing days of former quarterback great, Donovan McNabb, is over. Reports say he's accepted a broadcasting job.

According to TMZ.com, the 35-year-old QB has inked a deal to join the NFL Network as a broadcaster.

"He is going to be a part of their 'Playbook' show, as well as other platforms on the network," McNabb's rep Mark Lepselter tells TMZ. "[Broadcasting] is something that he is going to devote 100% of his attention to."

McNabb will tape the show in both New Jersey and Los Angeles.

In addition to being a commentator, he also wants to pursue business interests, "real estate in particular."

McNabb has a great career in the NFL, spanning over 12 years. His career began with the Philadelphia Eagles after the franchise drafted him with the #2 overall pick in the 1999 draft. He remained in Philly up until 2010, when he was traded to the Washington Redskins.

In late 2010, McNabb signed a huge, five-year, $78 million contract extension that didn't pan out. He was ultimately benched ... before being traded to the Minnesota Vikings in the summer of 2011, where he was eventually granted a release.

2011 would be his last season.
