  • Raekwon Talks "F.I.L.A." A$AP & Jay Z

Raekwon says the A$AP movement reminds him of Wu-Tang.

Raekwon recently spoke to Bossip about his sixth studio album, Fly International Luxurious Art (F.I.L.A.).

The Chef spoke on the similarities between the album's title and the Italian sportswear brand, he says he "grew up on."

"When you think of FILA, you think of the brand FILA," Raekwon says. "I love that brand...To us back then, it was like Gucci for the real niggas. The niggas that really paid they dues and been through the streets and turned nothing into something."

As for the features on this album, Raekwon says that he's "seen the evolution" of most of the artists included on his album.

"Looking at A$AP and their movement, looking at his whole movement with his whole crew, they remind me of my crew, Wu Tang," he says. "Just to see them out there doing their thing, I'm a fan."

The Wu-Tang affiliate also explains that his collaboration with Jay Z didn't work. Jay apparently wanted both Raekwon and Ghostface on the "Heavens" record off of his Magna Carta Holy Grail album.

"Jay had a vision already," Raekwon says.
