  • Wu-Tang's GZA Inks Deal With Babygrande, Readying Album For 2012

Wu-Tang Clan founder, the GZA, recently announced that he has signed a new deal with NYC-based indie label, Babygrande Records ... where he'll be releasing a forthcoming project.

"We have a fantastic relationship with GZA, and we are honored to have the opportunity to continue to work with him," said Babygrande's founder, Chuck Wilson.

The hip-hop veteran plans to drop a new album in 2012.

Details regarding the deal and/or forthcoming album were unknown at press time.

The GZA is one of the founding members of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. While his work with the Wu is in the history books, the Brooklyn rapper has released six LPs as a solo artist, his last being 2008's Pro Tools, which dropped via Babygrande.

In addition to working with GZA, Babygrande is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and is currently preparing to release M.O.P. & Snowgoons' collaborative project, Sparta, due November 22.
