  • Killer Croc Could be Introduced to the World of GOTHAM

There's a great big world of awesomeness to play with in FOX's new Batman inspired series Gotham. The Batman universe is huge, and there are so many characters that can be used in the world to help drive the story forward. In the pilot episode alone they introduce classic characters like The Penguin, The Riddler, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. They will also be teasing the Joker throughout the run of the series and eventually introduce him. I'm sure they'll bring even more characters into this world. In a recent interview with Female First, Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller revealed that Killer Croc could be in the cards. When asked about the library of characters they have to work with, this is what he said:

"We haven't excluded anyone from the mix potentially, but generally what we're looking at is characters where there is some drama or a story behind how they got to be the way they are."

I think there's a lot of drama and story behind most of the characters in the Batverse. Just don't expect to see any of them suiting up in costume or using any superpowers. Heller explains:

"We're looking for characters who live in the real world of Gotham as opposed to the even more super real world of Metropolis if you like. It's not about super powers, it's about super will, if you like. We veer towards those characters who are interesting as people, rather than interesting for their particular power or their particular gimmick or their costume."

There are still some unique characters, though, that they may not dismiss. One of those characters is Killer Croc. Here's what he had to say about that:

"There are certainly characters that would be very difficult to put on the screen. That crocodile guy [Killer Croc] is a tough one - although we may go there..."

I hope they do go there! Killer Croc is such an intense villain, and I'd love to see how they treated the character in this series. He's not the only one though, it would also be cool to see Clayface, Scarecrow, The Mad Hatter, The Ventriloquist, Deadshot; the list goes on.
