  • Bone-Chilling Trailer For Rodney Ascher's Documentary THE NIGHTMARE

Ascher is back with a new doc called The Nightmare, which takes a look at a condition suffered by millions of people called sleep paralysis. The trailer does such a good job of explaining what that condition is — and the utterly terrifying things that some people see while they're in that state — that I'll just recommend you watch it to understand the full weight of what these people experience.

I experienced sleep paralysis a lot as a teen. Every now and then as an adult. When I researched it online, it amazed me how similar the experiences are from everyone. It was comforting to know I wasn't the only one. It doesn't really scare me anymore. Only lasts about 5 to 10 seconds.

I had it happen once as a kid, there were daemons all around me and in my face and I could move or wake up, just frozen. Scared to death. Probably has something to do with connecting to another dimension with your brain, even if temporarily.
